In short
You approve the copy and the outlet list before anything is distributed. We guarantee publication of a press release or we refund it, but we cannot promise a specific outlet, a specific editor's decision, or a specific business result. The full text below governs.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms form an agreement between you ("client") and DO Your PR, operated by [registered legal entity name] of [registered business address] ("we", "us"). By requesting a quote, placing an order, paying an invoice or using our services, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Where a signed proposal, statement of work or written quote conflicts with these terms, that document takes precedence for the project it covers.
2. Services we provide
- Press release writing, editing and headline development
- Distribution across our syndication network and pitching to editors
- Media placements in business, finance, trade and regional publications
- Tier-1 editorial and contributor features, pitched story-first
- Google Knowledge Panel groundwork and entity clean-up
- Reputation management and search visibility work for founders and brands
Every engagement is scoped in writing before it starts. Anything not listed in your quote is out of scope until we agree it in writing.
3. Quotes, approval and your sign-off
- You send the announcement. We confirm what we can realistically place, the tier mix, the timeline and a fixed price.
- We draft the release. Nothing is distributed until you approve the copy in writing.
- Once you approve, distribution begins and the release enters editorial queues we no longer control.
Each release includes [two] rounds of revisions before distribution. Substantial rewrites after approval, or changes to an announcement already published, may be quoted separately.
4. Payment
- Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due in full before work begins
- Prices are quoted in [USD] and exclude any taxes or bank charges that apply to you
- Published prices may change with 30 days' notice; a quote you have accepted is held for [30] days
- Unpaid or reversed payments may pause delivery until the balance is settled
- Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy
5. Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate, truthful and lawful information, and tell us promptly if anything changes
- Hold the rights to the copy, quotes, logos and images you send us, and the authority to publish them
- Respond to drafts, questions and interview requests in reasonable time — timelines assume you do
- Do not ask us to publish anything false, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, or in breach of financial, medical, legal or advertising rules that apply to your sector
- Obtain any regulatory clearance your industry requires before an announcement goes out
You are responsible for the accuracy of the claims in your announcement. We may decline or withdraw from work that we believe is unlawful, unverifiable or damaging to the publications we work with.
6. What we guarantee — and what we cannot
We guarantee
- Publication of your press release, or a refund under the Refund Policy
- A named placement list, in writing, before distribution
- Human-written copy, not templated or machine-spun text
- Live links and dated screenshots as proof of every placement
- Confidentiality of your announcement until you approve release
We cannot guarantee
- Acceptance by any specific publication, editor or contributor
- Editorial treatment, headline wording, placement position or how long a piece stays online
- Approval by third-party platforms such as Google, whose Knowledge Panel decisions are entirely their own
- Search rankings, indexing, traffic, leads, followers, sales or investor interest
- That an outlet will not later edit, unpublish or move a piece, or that syndication partners will keep a copy live indefinitely
Where a named outlet becomes unavailable, we will offer a comparable publication of equal or better standing, or remove it from the scope and adjust the price.
7. Content, ownership and licence
You keep ownership of the material you supply. We keep ownership of our internal templates, outlet relationships, processes and reporting formats. On full payment you receive an unrestricted licence to use the final release and the coverage report for your own marketing, sales and investor material.
Unless you ask us in writing not to, we may describe the work in general terms as a case study, and reference published coverage that is already public.
8. Confidentiality and embargoes
We treat unannounced news, financials and pre-launch material as confidential and share it only with the people and outlets needed to place the story. We honour embargo dates you set and pass them to recipients, but we cannot control a third party who breaks one.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected with an engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost opportunity, reputational harm, or the acts, omissions or editorial decisions of any publication or platform.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Indemnity
You agree to cover us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from material you supplied or approved, including claims of defamation, misleading advertising, or infringement of someone else's rights.
11. Cancellation and termination
- Before distribution: you may cancel and receive a refund of the undelivered portion, less work already completed
- After distribution: fees for distributed releases are non-refundable except as set out in the Refund Policy
- Either of us may end an engagement in writing if the other seriously breaches these terms and does not fix it within [14] days
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The revision date at the top shows the current version, and the version in force when you placed your order governs that order.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [state / country], and the courts of [city, state / country] have exclusive jurisdiction. We will always try to resolve a dispute directly first — email hello@doyourpr.com and we will respond within one business day.
