In short
We collect what we need to write and place your announcement, we share your approved release with the publications we pitch, and we do not sell your data or add you to lists you did not ask for. The full text below governs.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how DO Your PR, operated by [registered legal entity name] of [registered business address] ("we", "us"), handles personal information collected through doyourpr.com and in the course of providing press release and media placement services.
For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described in section 8, contact hello@doyourpr.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, work email address, company or brand name and website
- The announcement you want published, including any draft copy, dates, quotes, spokesperson details and embargo instructions
- Target publications, industry and audience details you share so we can shape the pitch
- Correspondence with us by email, form, phone or messaging
- Billing details needed to invoice and process payment
Information collected automatically
- Basic device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed and referring links
- Cookie and similar identifiers, as described in section 6
We do not ask for special category data (such as health or political information) and ask that you do not send it to us unless it is part of an announcement you intend to publish.
3. How we use your information
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a placement list, timeline and price
- To write, edit and distribute your press release, and to pitch it to editors and publications
- To send drafts for your approval and to report the coverage we secure
- To take payment, issue invoices and keep accounting records
- To provide support, respond to requests and manage refunds or disputes
- To improve our service, measure site performance and prevent fraud or abuse
- To send service updates, and — only if you have opted in — occasional marketing emails you can unsubscribe from at any time
4. What we share with publications
Placing coverage means disclosing information on purpose. When you approve a release, we share it and the accompanying material with the outlets, editors, contributors and distribution partners we pitch. That material is intended for publication and, once published, is public and outside our control.
- We share the approved release, images, quotes, spokesperson name and title, and contact details you have marked as publishable
- We do not distribute anything before you sign off on the copy
- If you mark information as embargoed or background-only, we pass that restriction on, but we cannot guarantee a third party will honour it
- Publications may edit, shorten, syndicate, relocate or remove content under their own editorial policies and privacy terms
5. Other parties who process data for us
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our instructions, including email and file hosting, form and CRM tools, analytics, payment processors and press distribution networks. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
We also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cookies
- Essential cookies keep the site working and secure
- Analytics cookies tell us which pages are read and where visitors arrive from, in aggregate
- Functional cookies remember choices such as form progress
- Marketing cookies, if enabled, measure the performance of campaigns that bring people to the site
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential cookies cannot be switched off without affecting how the site works.
7. How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to [12] months
- Project files, approved releases and coverage reports: [3] years, so we can evidence what was published on your behalf
- Invoices and financial records: as long as tax law in [jurisdiction] requires
Published coverage remains online at the publisher's discretion and is not something we can delete on request.
8. Your rights
Subject to local law, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it to another provider. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
Write to hello@doyourpr.com and we will respond within [30] days. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your local data protection authority; if you are in California you have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
9. Security and international transfers
We use access controls, reputable hosted services and need-to-know sharing to protect information, and we keep client announcements confidential until you approve distribution. No method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our providers and the publications we pitch may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The revision date at the top always shows the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
